Harry L. “Buddy” Bender, V., age 39, of McDonald, formerly of Mars, died unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon at his home.

Born in McCandless Twp., PA on January 23, 1977, he was the Beloved son of Harry “Bud” and Lynn Hespenheide Bender, IV.

Bud was a Regional Sales Director for Novasom in Baltimore.

A graduate of Clarion University as a Communications Major, he belonged to Sigma Chi Fraternity.  He was a devoted Pitt and Steeler fan. 

He was a South Fayette Baseball and Softball Association V.P. and Coach from 2009-13.  He also worked with the South Fayette Township Youth Football Association and was fund raising coordinator from 2012-14 and was instrumental in bringing much needed funds and sponsorships that continue today. He coached from 2011-2016.  Bud loved coaching football and was a positive influence to all the players, making sure all kids felt special loved.  He will be greatly missed.

Buddy was a loving and caring son, brother and father who enjoyed time with family and friends.  Bud never met a stranger, everyone was his friend. He was a member of St. Kilian Church, and he loved the Lord.

Surviving are his children, Landon, 11, Arden, 8, and Harlow, 5, his parents, Harry “Bud” and Lynn Bender of Mars, his grandparents, Robert and Joan Hespenheide, his sister, Lindsay Ebken (Douglas) of Cranberry Twp., his brother, Timothy Bender (Carey) of Virginia Beach, he was the favorite uncle of Jackson Payne “Jax” Ebken and also has many loving aunts, uncles and cousins..

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 2-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA  16066 on Saturday at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Shaler Twp., PA.
