GriefShare

Your Journey from Mourning to Joy

As we begin 2017 you may be encountering some of the firsts that occur when your loved one is no longer with you. Maybe they involved Thanksgiving and Christmas and you need to share the burden of those encounters. I hope you are able to find some moments to reflect and maybe even have a hint of a smile for a memory that you remember about your loved one.

We would like to invite you to join us this Spring to share how you are doing, to touch base with the others who attend our GriefShare and ask, that if you know someone who is in need of a group such as ours, please bring them along. Our weekly group is a place where you do not have to have it all together. You'll find people who truly understand the raw emotions and difficult struggles you're facing. Please join us on Monday, February 13, 2017 as we meet at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Avenue in Mars. Please enter the church at the rear double doors. We meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

GriefShare sessions are for those who have lost a loved one through death and is open to all. We strive to make confidentiality the cornerstone of the group and remind you that anything that is said in the group stays in the group. We don't compare our grief to others in the group. Each participant's grief is unique (like your thumbprint). GriefShare is a biblically based and Christ-centered grief program.

The GriefShare class is a very informal type class. It is a grief recovery support group and is held on Monday evenings. Our next session is as follows:

February 13, 2017 through May 8, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Our meetings are held at Mars United Presbyterian Church. There is no cost to attend the GriefShare. GriefShare is sponsored by McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, John Hanovick, Supervisor. Please call 724-625-2900 or email the facilitator, Denise, at ddemarco5@yahoo.com if you have any questions. There is no cost to attend the program and no childcare available.

In case of bad weather we will follow the Mars School District snow cancellation policy.

Caring for people is at the heart of what McDonald-Aeberli strives to do. We want to help ease the pain for those who are bereaved. We want to invite you to our seventh GriefShare program. GriefShare is a Christ-centered, video-based, grief recovery ministry. You will feel comfortable and accepted as you encounter others who hurt and share some of the same kind of feelings as you do. At GriefShare, you will find that you are not alone, there are others who understand what you are going through.

Our facilitator will use the newest version of GriefShare DVDs to help you learn helpful and practical information that will assist you in your journey through the pain and grief of the loss of a loved one. Participants meet for 13 weekly sessions and view a 40 minute video. A discussion will follow each video to review what was seen and share the challenges you are facing and/or the victories you may be experiencing. You do not have to participate in the discussion if you are not comfortable doing so.

Please join us beginning Monday, February 13, 2017 through May 8, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Avenue, Mars (rear entrance). In case of bad weather we will follow the Mars School District snow cancellation policy.
