Fred was a good neighbor and certainly dedicated much to the cause of the American Legion and service organizations. As a kid, I remember being fascinated with the HO train layout he had in his basement. My sympathies to his family.

It was so sad to hear the news of Uncle Fred. I truly can not think of a time of not hearing about generations of stories of young people traveling, to stories that I was lucky enough to be included in. I will always remember the camping trips, visits, picnics and parties. They were good times. Aunt Jane, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest smpathies to Jane, his children, grandchildren and extended family. It has been my honor and my great pleasure to know and love Fred and his family. I loved to hear all his stories of an adventurous life well lived, and a country well served by a man who dearly loved God, his country and his family. He was a kind, generous, humorous man, who even in his aging years found ways to volunteer his time. The world has lost a great friend. This world needs more "Freds" and all will miss him dearly. My life has been enriched and blessed for having known Fred. Rest in peace, and God bless.

We all loved Uncle Fred, even growing up, I don't remember him ever being in a less than amicable mood. He was always willing to help wherever help was needed, and I loved listening to him go on about his flower gardens back in the day.

His attention to the veterans graves on patriotic holidays by placing flags on each of their grave sites was truly a ministry to the families and the community of Mars.

His presence will be missed by all of us.

Love you.
