I was dumbfounded when I recently learned of David's plight and passing. I have worked with David for many years as an advisor to the firm's retirement plan and can say he was a man of unusual talent and integrity. I considered him a friend who happened to be a client. We had long talks that ultimately got around to business but mostly were about life and the world around us. I will miss him greatly. If a man of his dedication to health and fitness can be felled so inexplicably, it is clear we must savor every moment we are accorded. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I will think about David often. Tom Wentling

My deepest sympathy to you Teresa, and to all of David's brothers, sisters and extended family. I have worked at Dymun with David since 2008. He has always been steady, determined, discerning, responsive to every IT, HR or financial challenge with a tenacity that saw each issue to its resolution. We will miss that. More importantly, David was a good and moral man. He was predominantly quiet, but it was always a surprising pleasure and special honor when he chose to stand in my doorway at work and share what was on his mind and in his heart. It seemed he stored things up inside and when he took the occasion to talk he had much to share. I will miss that. He always seemed to me the most disciplined and healthiest of us at Dymun, heading out each lunchtime like clockwork to run or work out at the downtown YMCA. It is shocking that so young and vibrant a man is gone. We will miss him deeply, and I wish him serenity and fulfillment in the grace and perspective of God. But I know that you who are his family, for whom he was intimately beloved, will miss him most. I wish you the comfort of community, the peace of God's promises, and the healing with hearts wide-open that comes over time. May the overarching, undergirding, encompassing, indwelling love of God be tangible to you and all of us as we traverse the path from grief to grace.

To David’s family—

I also had the privilege to work with David at Dymun+Company, and was so sad to hear of his passing. It is true that he was incredibly kind with an unquestionable level of integrity and honesty- qualities that made him a perfect fit for his role as CFO.

But, I also remember him as being incredibly funny—he had a quick, dry, observational (and mischievous!) “blink and you’ll miss it” sense of humor that never failed to brighten my day.

I have always believed that the quietest person in the room often has the most to say. That was true – at all times—of David. He truly was one-of-a-kind, and I am so grateful to have had the chance to know him.

My deepest sympathies to you during this difficult time.
