Emma M. Boice, age 94, of Mars, formerly of Valencia, died Wednesday Afternoon, July 13, 2016, at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center, in Mars, PA.

Born in Pittsburgh, on August 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Annetta Florence Jones Spohrer.

Emma was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church and president of the United Methodist Women, for many years.  She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505, and volunteered 300 hours at the Butler VAMC, and volunteered at St. Barnabas Free Home, in Gibsonia.

She worked for Penn Baking, in Pittsburgh, and sold Stanley Home Products for 25 years.  She also worked at Donna’s Kitchen, in the Northway Mall, as a server and cashier.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Anne Hicks of Gibsonia and Dayle Annette Kaufman and her husband, Barry, of Valencia;  two sons, David Albert Boice and his wife Mary of North Hills and Dennis Allen “Butch” Boice and his wife Barbara of Butler.  Also eight Grandchildren and many Great-Grandchildren and several Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Dale Boice, who died October 29, 1981; three brothers, Elmer and Ellis Matheson, and John Spohrer, and two sisters, Elizabeth Wendling and Annetta Miller.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA, on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  Service will be in the Valencia United Methodist Church, 66 Almira St. Valencia, PA  16059, on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Robert Martin, Pastor, Officiating.  Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery, Pine Twp., PA.
