Dolores E. McCandless, age 92, of Penn Mar Plaza in Mars, died Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Loretta Seifred Cahall.

Surviving are her granddaughters, Marcie Filip in Colorado and Melanie Rogney in Minnesota, her great grandchildren, Ted, Caitlin, and Nick, her former daughters in Law, Judi Shaw and her husband, Jack of Butler, and Virginia Gardner and her husband Craig of Minnesota, her brothers, Chuck and Ronald Cahall, of Callery and Raymond Cahall of Raleigh, N.C., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Vernon McCandless, who she married on August 2, 1940 and who died in 2001, by a son, Robert B. McCandless, by a grandson, by a great granddaughter, by her brothers, Kenneth, James, Robert and Chester and her sisters, Esther Mae Emmett, Nancy Smith, Eleanor Ann “Chookie” and Loretta Cahall.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life with a dessert reception to follow in the Community Room of Penn Mar Plaza in Mars on Thursday at 2:00 PM.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
