Carol L. McCandless, age 76, of Harmony, Lancaster Twp., died Friday evening, September 16, 2016 at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Mars, PA on November 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lewis G. and Francis M. Harris Mincer.

Carol had been a custodian for E.B. Peffer Company in Zelienople.

She was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church and enjoyed bowling and the occasional casino trips.

Surviving are her husband, William H. “Snaz” McCandless, who she married on December 30, 1959, a daughter, Marsha McCandless of Harmony, two sons, Bradley McCandless (Darcie) of Evans City and Craig McCandless (Linda) of Gibsonia, a daughter-in-law, Stacy McCandless of Evand City, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey McCandless, four sisters, Dolores Nelson, A. Pauline Dunbar, and Anna Faye and Madeline Mincer, and two brothers, Lewis Dean and Keith Mincer.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Rd. Mars, PA 16046 on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating.
