B. John Thompson, age 84, of Mars, died Sunday morning, July 24, 2016, at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Queen Junction, Butler County, PA on April 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Audley and Pearl Smith Thompson.

John had been a truck driver for James Austin Co., Freeport Transport and most recently E.S.M.

He was a long time member of the Mars Alliance Church and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Huffman Thompson, who he married on February 21, 1955, four daughters, Debbie Jones (Scott) of Mars, Marcia Gribble (John) of Mars, Lorrie Korn (Drew) of Hermitage and Kim Beidl (Robert) of Clarion, a son, Kenneth Reed Thompson (Evie) of Butler, eleven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, George and Jim Thompson, Dot Snyder and Rose Locke.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Mars Alliance Church, 997 Rt. 228, Mars, PA 16046 with Rev. Jeff Lawther, officiating. Please meet at the church.
