William K. “Whistle” Charlton, age 68, of Freedom, New Sewickley Twp., passed away on Friday morning, December 30, 2022 at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph in Baden.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 1, 1954, he was the son of the late William and G. Marie Drum Charlton.
Whistle was self-employed at C. & N. Automotive Machine, Inc. in Zelienople.
He enjoyed local stock car racing and NASCAR. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association. He enjoyed go-cart construction and repair.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen A. Burk Charlton, who he married on May 25, 1974, a son, Evan A. Charlton of Chicago, Ill., a daughter, Marissa A. Charlton (Eric McMurray) of McCandless Twp., his brothers, John H. Charlton (Jean) of Valencia and Jeffrey A. Charlton (Becky Boyd) of Portersville and a sister-in-law, Angela Charlton of Allison Park.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald E. Charlton.
Friend will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 3-7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Nancy Zahn, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mt. Chestnut.
