William F. "Bill" Ewart, Jr. Obituary

Bill Ewart, age 90, of Gibsonia, formerly of Aspinwall and Squirrel Hill, died peacefully on Friday morning, October 8, 2021.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 13, 1930, he was the son of the late William F. and Margaret Meals Ewart.

A graduate of Sterrett Grade School, he attended Peabody High School and graduated from Shady Side Academy in the Class of 1948. He graduated from Princeton University Class of 1952 and the Pittsburgh Theology Seminary Class of 1986.

He worked for Jones and Laughlin Steel Company for 25 years in various sales capacities and was Vice-President -Commercial, he moved to National Steel in the same capacity in 1975, where he retired in 1983 and went to the Seminary. He served as Interim Assistant Pastor at East Liberty Presbyterian Church and Interim Pastor at Springdale Presbyterian Church.

He sold real estate in Rhode Island and in Aspinwall and later retired to St. Barnabas with his wife, Joan Reed Ewart, who he married on June 20, 1953. They have four loving children, Alice and Robert McClintic, Clarke and Connie Ewart, Jay and Joli Ewart and Nancy Reed Ewart, seven wonderful grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Bakerstown Missionary Alliance Church, where he was an Elder and a Deacon. He rests with the Lord.

Memorials may be made to the East Liberty Family Health Care Center.

He loved the Lord, Joan, his children and grandchildren, the steel business and his friends, not always in that order.
