William Paul Flynn III, 82, of Seven Fields, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 5, 2026, surrounded by family.
Survived by his wife of 59 years, Winifred (Winnie) Kurtz Flynn; Son of the late William Paul Flynn Jr. and the late Grace Kleeb Flynn; father of Lisa Ann (Todd) Cignetti of Ashburn, VA and Erin Lee (Daniel) Holmes of Moon, PA; proud grandfather of Flynn and Danielle Holmes and Jack, Claire and Frank Cignetti; loving brother of Sally Flynn of Bellvue, PA, the late Ann Voll Elliott and the late Marylou Barton; Uncle of Linda Voll Schu, John Voll, Jeffrey Voll, Christopher Voll, Michael Voll, Kathleen Barton Podlesak, Christine Barton Gladish and the late David Barton. He will be missed by the Kurtz, Carr and Hulick families.
A 1961 graduate of North Catholic High School, Bill attended the University of Dayton for one year prior to transferring to Duquesne University. He then served with the 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard and graduated from Duquesne with a B.A. in Psychology. He was a brother and officer of the Gamma Phi Fraternity.
His 41 year career in banking included 26 years with Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh where he held various positions in community, private and international banking. He was the Regional Banking Manager for Pennsylvania National Bank in Harrisburg, PA and managed Business Banking sales teams for U. S. Bank and Huntington National Bank. He was Senior Vice President and District Team Sales Leader for KeyBank where he served on the Greater Cleveland District Leadership Council among other committees. Bill also volunteered with various civic and business development organizations and served on the Chamber of Commerce and Board of Directors for Leadership Harrisburg, The Art Association and the Society for Rehabilitation.
Bill was the quintessential family man, enjoying the company of his devoted wife and daughters and spending time with his adored grandchildren, “The Fab Five.”
He treasured his friendships with the brothers of Gamma Phi who were and are the “salt of the earth!”
Bill enjoyed Frank Sinatra, a good Malbec and the company of his precious family. He will be missed by the many people he touched with his ready smile, open heart and keen sense of humor.
A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced when finalized.
