William W. Fitzgerald, age 82, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, passed away on Monday afternoon, December 9, 2024 at St. Barnabas Home in Gibsonia, with his family at his side.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Raymond and Honora Clancy Fitzgerald.
He had served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a social member of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505.
Bill had worked as a Salesman for American General Life and then worked as a teacher of 8th grade science and math for the Pittsburgh Catholic Schools.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish and was a former CCD teacher. He was past president of the Mental Health Association in Butler and was active in the Pennsylvania Adoption Group.
Bill enjoyed fishing, water skiing, camping and travelling across the country. He loved adventures, the outdoors and the beach. He will always be remembered as smiling and laughing.
Surviving are his wife, Susan M. McAteer Fitzgerald, who he married on August 19, 1967, a son, Aaron Fitzgerald of Seven Fields, a daughter, Amber Fitzgerald of Valencia and his grandchildren, Audrey Fitzgerald and Jack Conner.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sister.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Mark the Evangelist Parish Food Pantry.
