Wayne E. Davidson, Sr.

Wayne E. Davidson, Sr., age 85, of Mars, passed away on Thursday morning, July 20, 2023 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp., with his family by his side.

Born in Butler, PA on September 14, 1937, he was the son of the late John Milo and Rilda Davidson.

Wayne started his working life at Pullman Standard in Butler and then worked as a plater for Paul’s Chrome Plating for many years. He was also a bus driver for Penn Mar Plaza and most recently had been a greeter at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home.

He was a member and former Elder at Old Union Presbyterian Church and enjoyed motorcycle riding.  He was a social member of Mars V.F.W., where he enjoyed throwing horseshoes.

Surviving are a son, Randy Davidson (Cate) of Mars, his grandchildren, Matt, Kaitlyn, Kristen and Zach (Sarah) Davidson, a daughter-in-law, Kelly Davidson of Mars, his companion of four years, Beverly Holt of Prospect, a sister, Alma “Jean” Pappas of Mars, a sister-in-law, Myra Davidson of Mars and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay C. Bowser Davidson, who he married on November 21, 1959 and who died on May 2, 2018, by a son, Wayne E. Davidson, Jr., and by his sister, Mary Lou Michaels and his brothers, Thomas, Charles, Harry and Jack Davidson.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday from Noon to 4:00 PM. Services will be held at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Rd. Mars, PA on Monday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
