Walter Ladebu Obituary

Walter F. Ladebu, 91, of Mars, PA, went home to his Lord on December 16, 2021, with loved ones by his side.

He married the love of his life, Carolyn J. Tuttle Ladebu, on March 13, 1962. A hardworking, self-employed brick and block mason for over 50 years, he built the family home with brick, mortar, and love. His family meant the world to him, as he meant the world to them. He always welcomed everyone into his home. He was the kindest, strongest, yet most gentle man. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed gathering with family and friends.

His other loves included God and his church family at Old Union Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and long-time member.

In his free time he enjoyed going fishing with his buddy Junior Meyer, gardening, and family camping trips. He also enjoyed his membership of the Mars Rod and Gun Club.

Born in Warrendale, PA, on June 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Walter and Hilda Aupke Ladebu, Sr.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Carolyn J. Tuttle Ladebu, five daughters, Sharon Grusofski (Jerry) of Zelienople, Laura Wilson (Robbie) of Petersburg, Ohio, Susan Sagi (Timothy), Rose Obman (Brian), and Aimee Ladebu, all of Mars, three sons, Brian Ladebu (Lori) of Slippery Rock, Steven Ladebu (Kate) of Petrolia and Matthew Ladebu (Nicole) of Crescent, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild with a second due soon, and a sister, Evelyn Cress of Volant.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Eberhardt, Lorraine Martin, and Carolyn English. And a dear friend he considered a brother, Frank Leonberg.

Arrangements are being completed by the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA. Condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com. Burial will be in Old Union Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to South Butler Community Meals on Wheels, 1091 Pittsburgh Rd.
