Thomas Boyle Logan, age 77, of Pine Twp., Gibsonia, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 3, 2024 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 19, 1946, he was the son of Alva Crawford and Mary Boyle Logan.
He had served as First Lt. in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Tom graduated from Richland High School and later received a BS in Education from Duquesne University and his Masters in Library Science from Edinboro University. He had taught at the University of the Americas in Mexico City and then operated a charter boat service in Isla Mujeres for 5 years.
He went into college textbook sales for Allyn and Bacon and Little, Brown and Company. He also worked at the North Park Boathouse and the Paddle Tennis Courts in North Park. Tom then was caregiver for his parents during their final years with dementia.
Surviving are his sister, Betty Fotta of Valencia and his brothers, Fred Logan and his wife, Peg of New Hope, PA, and Rick and David Logan, both of Gibsonia and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 1-3:00 PM. Services will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Alva and Mary Logan. Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
