Ruth Ann (Kennedy) Jones

Ruth Ann Kennedy Jones, age 82, of Mars, passed away on Friday morning, May 8, 2026 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.

Born in Adams Twp., PA on August 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Loyal V. and Emma M. Schilling Kennedy.

Ruth had been the Branch Manager for Mars National Bank at the Adams Township office.

She was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church, where she had been a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Surviving are two brothers, Wayne L. Kennedy (Antoinette) of Mars and Paul L. Kennedy of Evans City and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross W. “Tyke” Jones, who she married on May 14, 1977 and who died on April 24, 1997 and by her companion, Gerald “Pete” McCandless.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Rd. Mars, PA 16046 on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Old Union Presbyterian Church.
