Ruth E. (Housam) Dunbar

Ruth E. Dunbar, age 58, of Harmony, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2019 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.

Born in Anderson, Indiana on September 13, 1960, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Kohler Housam.

Ruth had worked as a meat cutter at Mars Supermarket for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Michael G. Dunbar, who she married on February 21, 1981, three daughters, Christy Sharp (Chip) of Mooresville, Indiana, and Marie McNamee (Mark) and Samantha McCandless (Robert “Rowdy”), both of Portersville, her grandchildren, Talin, Tyler, Liam, Shilo, Everett and Amelia, a brother, Blake Housam (Karen) of Bethel Park, two sisters, Beth Carlisle (Randy) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Faith Massingale (Robert) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends for a Celebration of Ruth’s life at the Adams Township Park, Rotary Pavillion, 698 Valencia Rd, Mars, PA 16046 on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 6-8 PM. A service will be held at 7:30 PM. Rev. Jeff Lawther, will officiate. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances in Ruth’s name be made to the American Cancer Society.
