Robert "Bob" Morris Obituary

Robert K. “Bob” Morris, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2020 after a long battle with cancer that metastasized to his bones.

Born in Lebanon, PA on September 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Lester and Helen Shott Morris.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Margaret A. “Peggy” Paxson Morris where together they raised four children in Irwin, PA: Robert (De) Morris, Linda (Mike) Gragilla, John who passed away in 2009, and Susan (Christian) Werner. Also surviving, is a brother Jim Morris, along with five beloved grandchildren: Michael, Brandon, Elle, Cade, and Alexa.

Bob served in the United States Marine Corps, graduated from Alfred State University and retired as an engineer with Elliott Company in 1999 after 34 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, and singing in the choir. He was a faithful follower of Christ and served as an Elder and Deacon at West Hempfield Presbyterian Church (Irwin, PA). He also was an active member at Buckingham Presbyterian Church (Ft. Myers, FL), and Old Union Presbyterian Church (Mars, PA). Bob’s love for his immediate and extended family and friends were evidence of his great love for his Lord and Savior. He loved others well!

Bob and Peggy traveled extensively across this great country for almost 20 years as full-time RV’ers and wintered in Ft. Myers, FL before settling back home in PA.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Rd. Mars, PA on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Military Burial with Honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA at a later date.
