Robert A. Stewart

Robert A. Stewart, age 89, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, passed away on Sunday morning, May 30, 2021 in the comfort of his home.

Born in Red Bank, Armstrong County, PA on November 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Don and Margaret Jones Stewart.

He was a 1949 graduate of Dayton High School and a 1959 graduate of Slippery Rock University.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.

Bob had worked in Glass Research for PPG for 32 ½ years.

Formerly a member of Dorseyville Alliance Church, now a member of LifePointe Alliance Church, he volunteered with the “Odd Jobbers” there.  He was a jack of all trades and spent his life helping others.

Words from family to describe Bob’s life include: faithful, deliberate, witty, hard worker, giving, hero, humble, generous, methodical, warm hearted, jokester, thorough, devoted, meticulous, appreciative, goofy, intentional, loving husband, wonderful dad and grandpa.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Shick Stewart, who he married on March 29, 1958, three daughters, Darnell Stewart Martino (Chris) of Baden, Deanne Smith (Charles) of Allison Park and Dinita Feather (Timothy) of Azerbaijan, Central Asia, his grandchildren, Nicole Gibson (Darvell), Rachel Feather and Lyndsay Wimer (Joseph), two sisters, Marilyn Joyce Henry of New Bethlehem and Margaret “Kay” Platt in Michigan and a brother, Brady Wayne Stewart (Susan) in California.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Shick, Don Eugene Stewart and James “Jack” Stewart.

Friends will be received at the LifePointe Alliance Church 997 Route 228, Mars, PA 16046 on Thursday June 3, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Indiana Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his beloved: Mahaffey Camp, 1559 Mahaffey Grampian Hwy. Mahaffey, PA 15757.

A Memorial Service for Bob Stewart, who entered heaven on May 30, 2021, will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, 7:00 p.m. at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, PA.  Please join us to celebrate a life well-lived by one who loved well!
