Robert L. Simmers

Robert L. Simmers, age 74, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, PA, passed away on Thursday evening, August 19, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Butler, PA on August 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Mary Berger Simmers.

Bob worked for the United States Postal Service, Logistics and Distribution Center in Warrendale.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Bob was a member of the Greater Grace World Outreach and had been active on church mission trips. He studied the Bible often. He loved to travel and he and his wife had been to Israel and Warsaw, Poland.

Surviving are his wife, Rachel M. Lipinski, who he married on July 22, 1972, his children, David R. Simmers (Christina) of Butler, Kristen R. Swigart (Douglas) of Valencia and Rebecca A. Toy (Christopher) of Fenelton, his grandchildren, Dylan, Elly, Jacob, Zoey and Lily, a sister, Barbara J. Janicki (Jack) of Butler and many in-laws and friends.

Services are private under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com. Entombment will be in the columbarium at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
