Robert L. Purvis

Robert L. Purvis, age 66, formerly of Valencia, PA, passed away in Palm Springs, CA on August 16, 2024 after a long illness.

Born on February 6, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Mac E. and Nancy Heckert Purvis. 

Bob was a 1976 graduate of Mars Area High School and 1980 graduate of Allegheny College, where he earned dual degrees in History and Economics. He was former officer of the family business, Purvis Brothers, Inc. of Mars.PA and he worked for COMPAQ computers in CA. He also had served as a director of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association.

He is survived by his brother, Mac  (Karen) E. Purvis, Jr., his step-mother Marjorie Purvis and step-sister Bonne (Jeff) Maiatico.  Nephews J.D. van Buskirk and Mac E. Purvis, III as well as a number of cousins.

Arrangements are private under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp. The family asks that donations be made in his memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown or the Humane Society of Butler County.
