Richard Lehman Obituary

Richard C. Lehman, age 85, of Mars, formerly of Burgettstown and St. Clair, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 19, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Appleton, WI on May 22, 1935, he was the son of the late McDonald Griffith and Kathryn Simon Lehman.

Richard had been a pharmacist and later a Sales Manager for Eli Lilly Company, covering Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.

He and his late wife, Shirley moved across the United States, eventually settling on a beautiful farm in Burgettstown. As a farmer, he was a proud member and leader of the Washington County Farm Bureau and the Cattlemen’s Club, raising llamas and cows. He was a devote Catholic, attending church every Sunday with his wife Shirley.

Richard prioritized his family over everything else. Every year, Richard would plan family vacations bringing his children and grandchildren together from different parts of the country. Holidays were always spent together on the farm enjoying good food, good conversations and stories which were always full of laughter.  His family was always at the forefront of his life. His family thanks God for all the wonderful memories and stories over the years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his high school sweetheart, Shirley M. Rehfeldt Lehman, who he married on June 16, 1956 and who passed away on January 2, 2021 and by his brother, Robert Lehman.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Tucker (Joseph) in Florida and Becky Stewart (John) in Virginia, two sons, Joseph Lehman of Mars and Jeffrey Lehman in West Alexander, and his grandchildren, Jeni and Ellen Hipple and Lori and Julia Lehman.

All services for Richard will be private at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crow Ave. Mars, PA. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Twp.
