Richard (Rick) Colonello

September 13, 1955 – March 26, 2026

Richard (Rick) Colonello, a longtime resident of the Valencia and Mars area, passed away on March 26, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on September 13, 1955, Rick was a graduate of Mars High School. Known for his strong-willed and independent nature, he channeled that determination into building and owning several businesses. He interacted with many through his auto repair shop and took great pride in owning his own archery shop for several years.

Rick’s greatest passions were found outdoors. Whether on a boat with a fishing rod in hand, skiing across the water, or settled into a treestand in the woods, he was most at home in nature. He cherished every moment spent fishing, boating, and hunting, creating countless cherished memories with family and friends on the water and in the woods.  His enjoyment of playing poker might have been the only thing to keep him off the water or out of the woods.  

He is survived by his three sons: Rick (Alexis), David (Meghan), and Joseph (Colleen); his grandchildren: Sophia, Vincenzo, Natalia, Jaxon, and Lucia; his longtime companion, Janna, and her sons Brandon and Mason (Abigail), along with their son Reding. Rick will also be deeply missed by his brothers John, Tom, and Bill, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rick was welcomed home in heaven by his parents, Joan and John.

In accordance with Rick's wishes there are no immediate plans for a viewing or a funeral.  He did, however, desire to make one last trip to both lakes Erie and Raystown with his sons, and we'll be certain to deliver on his wishes!
