Richard J. Bruce, age 70, of Richland Twp., Valencia, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025 at his home.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Mary Louise Kunz Bruce.
He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a two year past Commander of Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 and was a former State Adjunct.
Richard had been a draftsman and surveyor for Duquesne Light for 42 years.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church.
He was an avid bowler and loved hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Lee Bruce, who he married on February 14, 1975, two daughters, Amanda Burkert (Patrick) of Middlesex Twp., and Jeannie Bruce (Jeremy) of Monesson, his grandchildren, Jason (Shayla), Audrey, KiKi, Jack and James, three brothers, Robert A. Bruce, Jr. (the late Paula) of Gibsonia, William Bruce (Linda) of Mt. Nebo and Daniel Bruce (Bee) of Murrysville, PA and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina R. Bruce and a sister, Judith Dodge (the late Fred Dodge, Jr.).
Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 4-7 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Twp. Monday, May 19, 2025. Please meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM for a procession to the cemetery for honors at 11:00 AM.
