Richard David Brubach, age 69, of Valencia, died Thursday, at home on January 7, 2021 after months of declining health.
“Rick” was born October 27, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Joanne Louise (Knapil) and David George Brubach III, both of Pittsburgh. He was raised in McCandless Twp, attended North Allegheny High School and was a life resident of the Pittsburgh area.
Rick had a passionate, life-long love for animals, nurturing and caring for, not only dogs & cats; but rabbits, raccoons, and even a pet groundhog at one time.
Rick’s early interests included wood & metal work, car & motorcycle repair and touring, and target range shooting & re-loading. Later interests included weightlifting, gun collecting, shooting & re-loading, and watching endless movies and documentaries on military history. Not to mention that he could tie every knot known and even braid rope!
Rick spent most all of his career working in the family’s vending machine business; collecting & repairing the machines and creating very strong relationships with his customers, with his modest & earnest demeanor. In addition Rick enjoyed brief stint in the Locksmith business, where he learned to open virtually anything! He took pride in learning “old-school” trades & techniques.
Rick was very well thought individual, with his actions and manners very deliberate. Rick was long to listen, short to talk; and when Rick spoke it was usually very appropriate and accurate.
Rick cared for people in his own careful and reserved way, and he was extremely proud of his two sons Keith & Kurt.
Rick is survived by his wife Melony (Jacobson) Brubach of the residence; two beloved sons Kurt Richard Brubach & Keith Robert Brubach; brothers Bradley C. (Jerilee) Brubach, David G. IV (Joanne) Brubach; nieces Fawn Brubach, Christine (Brubach) Iannelli, Jennifer (Brubach) Slagle, Veronica (Brubach) Prefling, and Nicole (Brubach) Ohlsson; and Nephews John Brubach, Carl Brubach, and Nicholas Brubach; Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
