Raymond T. Scherer

Raymond T. Scherer, age 71, of Mars, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 23, 1949, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Theresa B. Stangl Scherer and stepson of the late Hermine Gindele Scherer.

Ray worked as a police officer for Allegheny County for many years.

He proudly served for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Husband of Frances Martinelli Scherer; brother of Diane (Sonny) Derescavage, Robert (Michele) Scherer, Michael (Janice) Scherer, Sue Scherer, Mark (Susannah) Scherer, and the late Karen Scherer (surviving John Michel); stepbrother of Terry (Blondell) Gindele, Craig (Jan) Gindele, and Amy (Roger) Elliot; and nephew of Rosemary Kuhn, Adele Scherer, Ralph (Nancy) Scherer, and Larry (Avis) Scherer. Also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
