Mark C. Volkwein, age 72, of Cranberry Twp., passed away on Wednesday morning, June 12, 2024 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 18, 1951, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marion Redic Volkwein.
Mark was a proud professional union truck driver for Tesone Trucking in Gibsonia and most recently with Robert Neff, Inc., based in Hebron, Ohio. He was a member of Teamster’s Union #249 and #341.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church, the Northside Sportsman’s Club and the Sewickley Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Killmeyer Volkwein, who he married on May 14, 1977, his son, Mark W. Volkwein (Danielle English) of Slippery Rock, his granddaughter, Alaina Mae Volkwein, and two sisters, Kathy Lucas (Andrew) of Lancaster, Ohio and Donna Lee Hibbs (Michael) of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Jean and James Sitar.
Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 5-8 PM. Blessing Service will follow at 8:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Bober, pastor of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, officiating. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Twp. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
