Margaret A. "Peg" (Trefelner) Irwin

Margaret A. "Peg" Irwin, age 89, of Mars, passed away on Friday morning, September 15, 2023, at Mercy Hospital after a fall at home.

Born in Freeport, PA on August 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Moss Trefelner.

Peg was an operator and worked in the repair department of North Pittsburgh Telephone Company, now Consolidated Communications.

She was a member of St. Kilian Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of Charity and was an avid bowler.

Surviving are her son, George H. Irwin of Mars, and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry V. Irwin, who she married on April 4, 1959 and who died on January 24, 1996, and by her siblings, Mary Ruth Harbison, Joan Morrone, Bernadette Trefelner, Francis Trefelner and James Trefelner.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Please meet at the church. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Twp. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society for the food bank in care of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, 7076 Franklin Rd.
