Margaret Morris Obituary

Margaret A. “Peggy” Paxson Morris, age 81, of Gibsonia, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer of the bone marrow.

Born in Scranton, PA on May 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Edna Budd Paxson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert K. “Bob” Morris, who passed away on September 12, 2020. Together they raised four children in Irwin, PA: Robert (De) Morris, Linda (Mike) Gragilla, John who passed away in 2009, and Susan (Christian) Werner. Also surviving is a brother James (Dolores) Paxson, along with five beloved grandchildren: Michael (Taylor), Brandon, Elle, Cade, and Alexa with whom she loved deeply.

Peggy graduated from Geisinger Memorial Hospital with a nursing degree and worked in several hospitals as an RN for over 30 years. She had a heart for serving others and a gentle spirit of joy and genuine kindness. She enjoyed golfing, water aerobics, biking, dancing, traveling, and journaling. She was a faithful follower of Christ and was an active member at West Hempfield Presbyterian Church (Irwin, PA), Buckingham Presbyterian Church (Ft. Myers, FL), and Old Union Presbyterian Church (Mars, PA). Peggy’s love for her immediate family and extended family and friends were evidence of her great love for her Lord and Savior.

Peggy and Bob traveled extensively across this great country for almost 20 years as full-time RV’ers and wintered in Ft. Myers, FL before settling back home in Western, PA.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Rd. Mars, PA on Friday, May 20th, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. Peggy will be buried alongside of her beloved Bob at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA at a later date.
