Margaret J. "Margie" Gerst

Margaret J. “Margie” Gerst, age 84, formerly of McCandless Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Shelbourne Assisted Living in Penn Twp.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 12, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret “Sis” Donovan Ogden.

Margaret had worked as an executive receptionist for PNC.

She was a member of St. Alexis Church.

Mother of Charles Gerst (Jackie) of Tionesta, Vicki Roberson (Larry) of Colonial Beach, VA, Chris Linn (Joe) of Millvale, Peg Lehew (Mark) of Wexford and Jan Richards (Dan) of Wexford, grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and sister of John Ogden (Sharon) of McCandless Twp. and June Suhanin of Sewickley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Gerst, who she married on January 14, 1956 and died on September 27, 2021, a grandson, Chuckie Gerst, two sisters, and three brothers.

Close friends and family may visit on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of Blessing Service at 10:30 AM at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA. Entombment will be in Christ Our Redeemer Mausoleum, Ross Twp., PA.
