Lydia Garritano Obituary

Lydia Garritano, age 93, of Mars, formerly of Chicago, Ill., passed away on Friday evening, December 17, 2021 at AHN Hospital in Wexford.

Born in San Luicdo, Italy on August 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina Alo.

Lydia had been a school security guard in Chicago.

She was a member of St. Kilian Church in Cranberry Twp.

Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Mappin (Donald) of Mars, a son, Remo Garritano (Pamela) of DeLand, Florida, her grandchildren, Rachael Spires (Roger), Brittany Beacham (Adam), Lisa Mappin, Morgan Mappin and Megan Mappin and her great grandchildren, Talan, Kylie and Aubrie Spires. Also survived by a sister, Cloe Bruno (Ralph) of Houston, TX and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale Garritano, who she married on June 8, 1958 and who died on June 18, 2006, by a son, John Garritano and by her brothers, Silvio and Vincent Alo.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 1-5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 with Fr. Charles Bober, pastor. Please meet at the church. Entombment with a prayer service will be held in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 87th and Hamlin Ave. Evergreen Park, Illinois 60805 on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
