Lois Janke Obituary

Lois J. Janke, age 77, of Mars, formerly of Gibsonia and Bakerstown, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in Orange Beach, Alabama while visiting.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George and Loretta Simpson Curry.

In her life of careers and entrepreneurship, she was a  beautician and then owned Janke’s General store with her late husband Ron in Forestville PA. She established and ran The Party Place business in Forestville, PA. Then went on 2 establish & run Cinderella Servers business in Naples, Florida.

She lived in the Bahamas on a house boat for a year with her 3 youngest children. In Peru for a short period, Naples Fl., Pittsburgh Pa. as well Mars Pa. She was a current member of the Woodland Valley Church in Mars, a former member of Assembly of God Church in Naples, Florida. She was a founding member of Allison Park Church in Hampton Township. At all of the churches she attended regularly she was a greeter and was active at local food banks. She loved to attend silver sneakers, crochet, paint, and travel for leisure. 

Her generosity knew no bounds as her and her late husband, Ron Janke, sponsored a family of Mongs to come to America from Laos with another local Forestville family. she also attended several mission trips alone, and with the APC Church family to Haiti, Honduras, and Peru.

Lois truly leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, her spirit will will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a true testament to a life well-lived and so deeply cherished. We take great pride in knowing that she is basking in the love of the Father forever more.

Surviving are three daughters, Jill Silver of Pittsburgh, Christana Janke of Sharpsburg, Sarah Harris (John "Tater") of Orange Beach, Alabama, four sons, David Wissinger (Karen) of Ford City, Ronald V. Janke (Shannon) of Bonita Springs, Joshua Janke of North Hills and Brooks Janke of Bonita Springs. A sister, Jetta Werrline of Chicago, Ill., eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Carole Keys.
