Linda Lees Obituary

Linda E. Lees, age 78, of  Adams Twp., passed away on Thursday evening, July 11, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 27, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ethel M. Kennedy Baumgartel.

Linda had worked at Mars National Bank for over 40 years, retiring as a Loan Officer.

She was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and deacon, sang in the choir and served on the A-Team.

She was an Adams Twp. Supervisor for over 30 years overseeing the police department.  Linda Lees Way off Rt. 228 was recently dedicated in her honor.  She also served on the Mars Public Library Board.

Linda had been involved in 4-H and showed cattle at the Farm Show and Butler Fair.

Surviving are her husband, John V. "Jack" Lees, who she married on June 24, 1978, her brothers, Dr. Ira Baumgartel (Michele) and her twin, Larry Baumgartel, both of Mars, a niece, Dr. Jennifer Zangardi (Al) of Scranton, a nephew, Michael Baumgartel (Kelly) of Mars, great nieces and nephews,  her faithful canine companion, Doogie,  two step-daughters, Sherri Pfeifer (Dennis) of Butler and Cindy Mikalauskas (Carl) of Renfrew, her step-son, Rodger Lees (Nancy) of Evans City, 6 step-grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Baumgartel and her sister, Carol Marie Baumgartel.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday  from 4-7 PM. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA 16046. Rev. Brian Houser, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Twp. Memorials may be made to the Mars U.P. Church, the Mars Public Library, P.O.
