Kenneth C. Wakefield, age 84, of Middlesex Township, passed away on November 11, 2025, while in the care of Passavant Hospital.

Born in Homer City, Indiana County, PA on December 2, 1940, he was the son of the late Archie and Helen (Skinner) Wakefield.

Ken married the love of his life, Kay Stirling on February 1, 1964, at Glade Run Presbyterian Church and shared his life with Kay until she passed away on August 10, 2021.

Ken graduated from Mars High School and served in the Army before attending the University of Pittsburgh and the State Police Academy, graduating from both. Ken was proud of his military service and of the thirty years he served the people of Pennsylvania as a Pennsylvania State Trooper, retiring with the rank of Corporal.

After retiring, Ken and Kay traveled and spent many winters in South Texas and along the Gulf shores. Always dog lovers, their pets would often travel with them, touring the country in their motor home.

Ken is survived by his half-brother Bill Eckman of Valencia; his half-sister Barbara Edmond of Texas; his brother-in-law Brian (Patricia) Stirling of Portersville; sisters-in-law Linda Stirling of Grove City, Royene Strazisar of North Carolina, Margaret Eckman of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and Linda Wakefield of Martinsville, Indiana. Ken is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as loyal friends.

Along with his parents and Kay, he was preceded in death by his brothers Don Wakefield and Vaughn Eckman; his brother-in-law Jack Stirling and sister-in-law, Linda Eckman.

Contributions in his memory can be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
