Karl Riegler Obituary

Karl M. Riegler, age 80, of Middlesex Twp., passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in the comfort of his home.

Born in Pittsburgh on February 16, 1944, he was the son of the late Karl and Anna Marie Dernus Riegler.

Karl was a 1962 graduate of Richland High School, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from GAI Consultants, Inc. in 2009 after working there for over 25 years as a Drafter/Designer. You could find Karl working for the past 15 years on most weekday mornings at the Seven Fields Sunoco/7-Eleven.

Karl was a member of Saint Mark the Evangelist Parish, St. Kilian Church, for over 60 years. He was a Eucharist Minister, and a long-time member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, where he held many positions. Karl bowled in various bowling leagues for over 50 years, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Karl is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Regina (Jeannie) Houpt Riegler; his children, Andrea Schriner (Chris) of Saxonburg, Allison Morrow (Steve Huggins) of Middlesex Twp., Karl Riegler (Corandina) of Penn Twp., Eric Riegler of Austin, TX; and Joel Riegler of Middlesex Twp.; his grandchildren, Andy, Lauren, Adam and Evan Schriner, Vanessa and Claudia Morrow, Michela and Sophia Riegler; a sister Barbara Ann Olminsky (Charles) of Ravenna, OH; a brother, Frank Riegler (Diane) of Gibsonia; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Karl is preceded in death by his in-laws, Henry and Mary Katherine Houpt; a sister-in-law, Margaret Nickl; and two brothers-in-law, Henry Houpt, Jr., and Joseph Baier.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 2-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 18, 2024, at St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 at 11:00 AM. Everyone please meet at the church.
