Judith E. "Judie" Szeg

Judith E. Szeg, age 88, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Callery, Hampton Twp. and Valencia, passed away on Saturday afternoon at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 1, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Porter Hanna.

Judie was a graduate of Hampton High School and was a St. Francis Alumni. A Registered Nurse, Judie had worked for St. Margaret’s and St. Francis Hospitals, both in Pittsburgh.  A business owner, she and her husband owned Rehab Professionals for Catastrophic Case Management and Life Care Planning in Hampton Twp. for many years.

She was a former member of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church in Allison Park.

Surviving is her husband of 41 years, Charles F. Szeg, who she married on July 20, 1983, her daughters, Kevan Shaffer (Victor Duncan) of Kittanning, Kristine Britt (Cliff) of Butler, and Kary Barker of Myrtle Beach, S.C., a son, Jon Kilner of Zelienople, a step-son, Vance Szeg of Zelienople, her granddaughters, Cheyenne Shaffer and Jaymi and Julia Tush. Also survived by her sister, Beverly Miller in Arizona.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hanna.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Allegheny County Memorial Park in McCandless Twp.
