Joseph "Joe" C. McKinney

Joseph C. McKinney, age 69, of Saxonburg, formerly of Valencia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, November 17, 2022 at Butler Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Charles Clyde and Naomi Elizabeth Chritchley McKinney.

Joe worked in sales in the steel industry for years ending his career with  Paul Wurth International and was active in many steel industry associations.

An avid golfer, he belonged to many golf clubs and participated in many charity events.  He was a social member of Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 and had been active with Mars Area Recreational Sports.

Joe was a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg.

He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn R. “Bunny” Weibel McKinney, who he married on January 9, 1976, a daughter, Candace “Candy” Preteroti (Gregg) of Saxonburg, a son, Joseph Charles “Jo-Joe” McKinney, Jr. (Stephanie) of Waterford, PA, his grandchildren, Stone “Spudz” Preteroti and Aspen “Punkin” McKinney and a sister, Donna McKinney Flowers of Saxonburg.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce W. McKinney and Charles “Buddy” McKinney.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp., PA. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 197 Glade Mill Rd. Saxonburg, PA 16056.
