Joseph E. Urso

Joseph E. Urso, age 88, of Mars, Adams Twp., passed away on Saturday evening, February 26, 2022 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 21, 1933, he was the son of the late January Eugene and Josephine Maria Celender Urso.

He had served in the Air National Guard.

Joe graduated with an MBA from Carnegie Mellon and had been an engineer for U.S. Steel, Rust Engineering, IBM and finally Tippins, all in Pittsburgh. He then worked as a realtor for Caldwell Banker before retiring in 2017.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church in Cranberry Twp.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 60 years, Judith Shield Urso, who he married on September 15, 1962, five sons, Joseph R. Urso (Heidi) of Cranberry Twp., Jeff E. Urso (Lesley) of Valencia, James A. Urso (Katie) of Richmond, VA, Jon C. Urso (Kim) of Tampa, FL and J.R. Urso (Patty) of Richmond Hill, GA, a daughter, Julie Marie Coburn (Roland) of Greenville, N.C., eleven grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. Also survived by three brothers, Vito Urso (Marilyn) in Pittsburgh, Sam Urso of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Tony Urso (Kathy) in Pittsburgh and a sister, Donata Hunt (Robert) of Apollo, PA and nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Twp., PA.
