Joseph A. Burr, Jr.

Joseph A. Burr, Jr., age 92, of Mars, passed away on Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2024 at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in New Castle, PA on August 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Coper Burr.

Joe had worked in the maintenance department at M.S.A. in Callery for many years.

He was a member of LifePointe Alliance Church and had been active in the Butler County Sheriff's Posse.

He had also been a Boy Scout assistant leader for Troop 400 in Adams Twp.

Surviving are two sons, Earl Burr (Betty) and Raymond Burr, both of Mars, his grandchildren, Dylan, Chelsie, Michelle, Kevin, Josh and Abby, his great granddaughter, Xochi, and a sister, Helen Howell of Sarver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. Rettinger Burr, who he married on June 12, 1955 and who died on May 11, 2017, and by a brother, Howard Burr.

Friends will be received at the LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Rt. 228, Mars, PA 16046 on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 2-4:00 PM. Services will follow at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Paul Cope, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp., PA. Memorials may be made to the LifePoint Alliance Church.
