Joanne L. (Lockenour) Grubbs

Joanne L. Grubbs, age 90, of Mars, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 29, 2024 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.

Born in Akron, Ohio on April 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Helen Pruitt Lockenour.

Joanne had been a school teacher for North Allegheny Jr. Sr. High School  District.

She was a member of Crossway Community Church in Valencia and was enjoyed activities at Penn Mar Plaza, where she resided.

Surviving are her children, Susan Park (Roger) of Valencia, Ellen Schramm (Mike) of Middletown, MD., and Edward Thomas (Gary) of Pittsburgh. Step-mother of F. Michael Grubbs (Carol) and Jon P. Grubbs (Patty), mother-in-law of Pam Thomas in Texas, grandmother of Mike, John and Shannon Park, Katie Harrington (Clint), Colin Thomas, Heather Liverman (Arlen), and Brittany and Courtney Schramm, step grandmother of Frank Grubbs, Charissa Burns (Chad), Joshua Grubbs, Bethany Wentz (Brad) and Jeremy Grubbs.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Maurice D. Thomas and her second husband, Frank D. Grubbs, by her son, Steve Thomas and her sister, Janet Woodford.

Services are private. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Twp.,  PA. Memorials may be made to Crossway Community Church, 109 Davis Rd. Valencia, PA 16059.
