Jessie Mae (Purvis) Thieleman

Jessie Mae Purvis Thieleman, of Mars, passed on to Heaven on Saturday morning, December 22, 2018 at St. John Specialty Care Center under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

She was born in Valencia, PA on December 29, 1922 to Beulah Miller Purvis and Verne V. Purvis.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mars Alliance Church, now LifePointe Alliance Church, where she was a choir member and taught Sunday School for more than 30 years.  She especially loved to teach the Old Testament.

Jessie Mae is survived by her husband, Donald Thieleman, whom she married on September 5, 1952 in Winchester, VA. Also survived by a daughter, Ginna (Steve) Myerchin of Ft. Collins, CO and a son, Michael (Kim) Thieleman of Cleveland, Tenn, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, a sister, Marian Black and a brother, David (Bonnie) Purvis, both of Valencia and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Hagens, a sister, Jean Johnston and a baby brother, Sammy Purvis.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-11:00 AM at the LifePoint Alliance Church, 997 Rt. 228 Mars, PA 16046 with a Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Rev. Paul Cope, officiating.
