Jerry L. (Schneider) Black

Jerry L. Black, age 90, of Mars, passed away on Monday afternoon, August 19, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Estol and Mary Lee Orr Schneider.

Jerry had been a courier for Mars National Bank. 

An excellent baker, Jerry made many pies for M.J.'s Place in Mars.

She was a former member of the Mars Methodist Church and was now an active member of the LifePointe Alliance Church in Mars.

Surviving are a daughter, Molly Takach of Mars, two sons, Dan Black, Jr (Michelle) in Ohio and Guy Black (Lisa) of Mars, her grandchildren, Sammy, Dane, Lauren, Logan, Jake (Kristie) and Karly (Dylan), her great grandchildren, Jonah, Liam, Ben, Ezra and Bo, her canine companion, Yoda and a sister, Pamela Wissle and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel R. Black, Sr., who she married on March 13, 1952 and who died on May 6, 2019 and by her siblings, Rexanne Schwadron, Mary Lou Swaney, Dave Schneider and Richard Schneider.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Rt. 228, Mars, PA 16046 on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Paul Cope will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to assist with expenses.
