James W. "Jim" Batchen Obituary

James W. “Jim” Batchen, age 70, of Mars, formerly of Knoxville, TN and Buffalo, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday evening, March 9, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 16, 1950, he was the son of the late James W. and Sophia Stackiewicz Batchen.

Jim was a Regional Sales Manager for Graphic Controls in Buffalo, N.Y.

He was a member of St. Kilian Church in Cranberry Twp. and the Knights of Columbus there.

He also belonged to the Franklin Twp. Pointer and Setter Club and the Lawrence County Sportsman’s Association.

Jim enjoyed fly fishing, bird hunting and sporting clay shooting.

Husband of Celine M. Wessel, who he married on September 9, 2000, father of Jason Batchen (Natalie) of Kittanning and Justin Batchen (Nicole) of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., grandfather of Brody, Alexander, Jordan, Luke and Camren, brother of Jeff Batchen (Joni) and Susan Johns (Jim), both in Monroeville, nephew of Pat McCloskey (Don), and uncle of Jeffrey Batchen, Jennifer Harrover (Jake) and Samantha D’Uva (Tony).

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Saturday from Noon to 2:00 PM.  A Blessing Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Fr. Charles Bober, pastor of St. Kilian Church, officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Kilian Church Food Pantry, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066.
