James D. "Jay" Roy

James D. “Jay” Roy, age 81, of Mars, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 28, 2022 in the comfort of his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 21, 1940, he was the son of the late James H. and Emilie DeWall Roy.

Jay was President and CEO of Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh.

He was an active member of the Memorial Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church in North Hill.  He served on the Board of Directors of Geneva College and the Pittsburgh Project.

A lifetime member of Trout Unlimited, he enjoyed fly fishing, reading and history.  He was also a longtime member of the Pittsburgh Experiment.

He belonged to the Duquesne Club for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Hawthorne Roy, who he married on August 14, 1965, his daughter, Laura Roy of Cranberry Twp., his son, K. Scott Roy and his wife, Penny of Mars, and his grandchildren, Taylor McClain (Emily), Connor McClain (Melissa) and Hadleigh Roy.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Memorial Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 8800 Peebles Ave. Allison Park PA 15101 on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Revs. Dean Weaver, Kevin Gourley and Betsy Rumer, co-officiating. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Twp. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Church.
