James Russell McCort

James Russell McCort, age 73, of Jamestown, Crawford County, PA, formerly of Shaler Twp., passed away on Friday morning, November 15, 2024 at Greenville Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 12, 1951, he was the son Virginia Schaaf McCort and the late James A. McCort.

Jim was a Cable Splicer for Bell Telephone, now Verizon. He was a strong union member of the CWA Union (Communication Worker's of America).

He was a member of the Elfinwild Presbyterian Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Jim loved his family, especially his grandkids and his granddogs.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon A. Carlin McCort, who he married on May 5, 1973, a son, James T. McCort (Teri) of Harrison City, a daughter, Jennifer M. Riegler (Michael) of Mars, his mother, Virginia McCort of Mars, five grandchildren, James L., Haleigh and Alissa McCort and Elaina and Meira Belle Riegler, his granddogs, Wagner, Yahtzee and Mia, a sister, Kimberly Gavin (Michael) of Mars and a brother, Scott McCort (Laurie) of Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his father and his twin infant brother, Robert Donald McCort.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-7:30 PM. Services will follow at 7:30 PM.
