Irene M. "Margie" Hardt Obituary

Irene M. “Margie” Hardt, age 90, of Middlesex Twp., Valencia, passed away on Saturday evening, May 6, 2023 at UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 5, 1932, she was the daughter  of the late John and Irene Dunn Merenick.

Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was the personification of patience and love among her family and friends. She was a woman of strength, kindness and gentleness.

She was involved in her community and did lifelong social work with the Lions Club and Middlesex V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary.

She was a member and faithfully attended Holy Sepulcher Church since 1957 and participated in church organizations there.

Beloved wife of Charles J. Hardt, who she married on December 30, 1950, loving mother of Irene "Peggy" Puskas of Orlando, Florida, Charles J. Hardt, Jr. (Kim) of Stowe, Ohio, Debra “Deb” Reed (Jim) of Mechanicsburg, John E. Hardt of Valencia, Sandra M. Rogers (Sandy) of Plain Grove, William E. “Bill” Hardt (Karen) of Valencia, Laura Standish (Pete) of Mars and Jacqueline “Jackie” Hardt of Red Lion. Also 29 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, a sister, Regina Gibson in California and a brother, Edward Merenick (Kay) of Murrysville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Merenick, two grandchildren, Roland Reed and Kira Pierce and a great grandchild, Dylan Emery.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 East Cruikshank Rd. Butler, PA 16002 (Glade Mills) on Thursday at 10:00 AM with Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Twp., PA.
