Howard J. Maier

Howard J. Maier, age 94, of Pine Twp., passed away on Monday evening, December 21, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.  He was fortunate to never have been affected by Covid.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Oliver and Norma Crusan Maier.

Howard had been a mechanic for Eazor Express of Pittsburgh.

He enjoyed his Friday Night  Bowling League.

He had served in the United States Army during W.W. II and was awarded the European African Eastern Campaign Ribbon, Occupation of Germany, American Theatre of Operations Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the W.W. II VIctory Medal.

Surviving are a son, Russel J. Maier (Joan) of Pine Twp., a daughter, Amy Maier of Pine Twp., his grandson, Matthew Maier of Pine Twp., a sister, Gail Howell (David) of Mars, a brother, Arthur Maier (Eileen) in Florida and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Kean Maier, who he married on September 2, 1949 and who died on September 28, 2017, and by his sisters, Edie McCormick, Jean McMillen, Margie Roberts and Norma Maier and by his brothers, Oliver, Robert and Jack Maier.

A private family viewing and service was held with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Warrendale.
