Hilda C. (Eichenlaub) Caldwell

Hilda C. Caldwell, age 90, formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 31, 2019 at Wexford House Health Center.

Born in Wexford, PA on October 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Hildegard Altmeyer Eichenlaub.

Hilda and her late husband, William had owned the Arco Gas Station in Ingomar and later Caldwell Water Softeners of Saxonburg, where she was the bookkeeper.  She later worked as a school bus aid for A.J. Myers.

She was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Zelienople.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Ann Harr of Valencia and Sandra Hufnagle (Charles) of Gibsonia, a son, William Richard Caldwell, Jr. of Pgh., six grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a sister, Gloria Drambel (George) of Gibsonia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Caldwell, Sr., who she married on June 24, 1950 and who died on March 21, 2002, by a son, Charles Caldwell, a daughter, Debra Caldwell Wright, by two sisters, Martha Vandevort and Thelma Plut Chenot and by two brothers, Theodore and Joseph Eichenlaub.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Rd. Cranberry Twp., PA 1606 on Friday at 10:00 AM. Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
