Harold Kennedy Obituary

Harold Francis Kennedy, age 85, of Valencia, passed away on Friday morning, November 25th, 2022 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp., after enduring a stroke.

Harold was born in Adams Twp, PA on November 21st, 1937. He was the son of the late Honorable H. Francis and Martha Everett Kennedy. He was also preceded in death by his son, H. Robert Kennedy and step-son, Marshall Adam Cranmer.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Judy Cranmer Kennedy, his daughters, Diane (Craig) Edwards & Holly (Tim) McKenna, his son, Dale (Renee) Kennedy, step-son, Matt (Heather) Cranmer, step-daughter, Marcy (Tiffany) Cranmer, his sister, Nancy Govan, his brothers, James L. (Rita) Kennedy & H. Phillip Kennedy, Sr., as well as his many grandchildren & great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Harold was a respected pillar of our community. He was a lifelong farmer and dedicated & skilled employee of North Pittsburgh Telephone Company for many years. Harold served as a Deputy for the Pennsylvania Game Commission and was instrumental in providing Hunter Safety instruction to many of our local youth.

Harold had been in the Masonic Orders since 1966 and belonged to the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F. & A.M. He had been an Adams Township Supervisor, was Treasurer of the Breakneck Creek Regional Authority, and served on the Board of Directors of the Adams Township Water Authority. He held many positions, including Director of the Butler Fair. He was a longtime supporter of 4-H Youth, and was active in the Butler Farm Show livestock sale. Harold raised shorthorn cattle & show calves and belonged to the American Shorthorn Association. He was also a lifelong member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church.

Harold’s passions included: hunting, farming, spending time with his family & friends, and sitting on his back deck with his dogs, watching the deer roam in his fields below.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday, November 30th from Noon – 4:00PM and 6:00 – 7:30PM. A memorial service will follow at 8:00 PM at the Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA, with Rev Brian Hauser, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Conservation Officers of Pennsylvania, Harold F. Kennedy Memorial Fund. Checks in his memory can be made out to COPA and mailed to: COPA P.O.
