Grace M. (Molinaro) Kolander-Shaw

Grace M. Kolander-Shaw, age 82, of Penn Twp., Butler, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born at home in Adams Twp., PA on October 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Yolanda Retrovata Molinaro.

Grace had attended a one-room school house for 4 years and graduated from Mars High School in 1959. She later graduated from Robert Morris School of Business.

Grace had been an accountant for West Penn Power for 17 years. 

She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at Holy Sepulcher Church. She belonged to the Penn Twp. Women's Club and the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are her husband, Ralph Shaw, who she married on June 6, 2012, two sons, Jay Kolander of Butler and Justin Kolander (Alyssa) of Boyers, two grandchildren, Taelynn and Jaxton Kolander, a sister, Christina Swartz of Kittanning and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Kolander, who she married on October 12, 1963 and who died on February 16, 1998, her sisters, Rose Acquavita, Mary Hanovick, Helen Molinaro and her brothers, Raymond, Adam, Joe and Tony Molinaro.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Rd. Butler, PA 16002 on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Please meet at the church. Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp., PA.
